Serving Ontario

The process

How a window or door job actually moves

Every project at QTSHUB Windows & Doors follows the same order: a conversation, a look at the opening, a written quote, the work itself, a walkthrough, and a phone number that still works afterward.

The assessment happens at the opening that needs work.

Why the order matters

Windows and doors fail in ordinary ways, and the fix is ordinary too if it is done in order. Skipping the measure is how the wrong unit gets ordered. Skipping the walkthrough is how a latch stays stiff. This page is the sequence we use for all of our services, whether the job is one pane of glass or a set of replacement windows and a front door.

The company serves Ontario from an office in Kingston. Urgent broken glass is handled as emergency window repair during published business hours: call +1 (613) 634-3422 and read emergency window repair so you know what “secure first” means. Everything else can follow the steps below.

01

Consultation

You call, email, or send an estimate request. Tell us the city, the type of opening, and what it is doing: fogged, drafty, stuck, cracked, or missing. Photos are useful. They do not replace a tape measure. An estimate request is not a confirmed appointment.

If you already know the service, say so. If you do not, describe the symptom. We will point you toward window replacement, installation, door replacement, a sliding door, glass repair, or an emergency visit. The matching pages live under services.

02

Assessment

We come to the property at an agreed time. We measure the opening, operate the window or door, and look at the frame, sill, hardware, and the finish around them. On a slider we check whether the sill is level. On a fogged window we check whether the sash is worth glazing again.

You are welcome to walk through it with us. The point of the visit is to answer questions at the opening. We do not ask you to approve a price while we are still guessing at the size.

03

Written quote

The quote lists the openings, the direction of the product, and the price. It is an offer, not a surprise invoice. You can ask what is excluded. The written quote states how long it remains open. If a supplier price moves before you accept, we tell you before anything is ordered.

Accepting the written quote is what starts the agreed work, after timing is confirmed. There is no obligation to proceed after an estimate request. Payment terms are the ones written on that quote, not a separate verbal add-on. Read the terms and conditions for how changes are handled.

04

Installation or repair

On the agreed day we complete the scope you approved. Old units come out only when replacement is the job. Glass is set when repair is the job. The opening is left weather-tight before we leave, even if a small finish item is noted for the walkthrough.

If we uncover rot or damage that the first visit could not see, we stop and show you. The scope changes only after you agree. Floors and nearby finishes are protected while the opening is open.

05

Final inspection

We operate every window and door in the quote with you. Locks, sliders, and sashes are checked. We look at the interior and exterior finish that the quote included. If something is not right, it is noted while we are still there.

This is also the moment to ask how to clean the new glass and what not to lean against a fresh seal. Short questions are better than a callback that could have been answered in the kitchen.

06

Support

Call +1 (613) 634-3422 if a latch, roller, or seal needs attention after we have gone. Use the same number listed on this site.

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Sunday is closed. Emergency window repair is available only during these hours.

What we need from you

  • A way to reach you on the day of the visit.
  • Access to the inside and outside of the opening.
  • Pets and children kept clear while glass is being handled.
  • A decision on style and glass before a special-order unit is placed.
  • A clear yes before we expand the scope for hidden damage.

If you want the background of the company, read about us. If you want to send an estimate request, go to contact.

FAQ

Questions about the process

How do I arrange a visit?

Call +1 (613) 634-3422 or send an estimate request. We will follow up to confirm next steps. An estimate request is not a confirmed appointment.

Is the quote an obligation to proceed?

No. The written quote is an offer. Work proceeds after you accept it. The quote states how long it remains open. An estimate request is not acceptance of work.

What if you find rot after the old window comes out?

We stop and show you. Hidden damage is not added silently. You approve any change in scope before we continue.

Who do I call after the installation?

Use the same number, +1 (613) 634-3422. After-sales questions stay with QTSHUB Windows & Doors.
